Frame box kit for the FJ40
Anyone that has been in a good "twist" has seen how much the Landcrusier frame flexes. This flex is due to a hot rivited frame. By boxing in the FJ40 frame, this can cut down on frame flex which leads to fatigue and cracking of the frame. Gussets that will reinforce the rear spring hangers also come with the kit. All pieces are laser cut out of 3/16" plate. Pieces must be welded in and may require minor trimming due to many years of good off-roading :>).


*NOTE* Stitch welding the remainder of the frame will also minimize frame flex.

This is a view of the passenger side long plate welded in and waiting to be painted.
Note how the original brake line bracket was reused by drilling a hole in the plate and securing it with a self-tapping bolt (bolt not included). This method of mounting allows you to determine the final bracket location yourself.


This is a view of the spring hanger gusset.
These strengthen an area of stress caused by running larger tires or high arch springs.
